Attendance Training for School Governors
This short, Saturday morning session is ideal for School Governors who have lead responsibility for pupil attendance. This portfolio is sometimes an 'add-on' to Safeguarding and often taken up with perhaps little or no knowledge of the legislation, government requirements and the impact of attendance on attainment at school. The course covers the role and responsibilities of Governors to ensure both Government and Ofsted requirements are met.
To identify the responsibilities of Governors in respect of pupil attendance.
To understand attendance and absence data and what constitutes “good” attendance, with reference to the Ofsted framework.
To consider the link between pupil attendance and attainment.
To look at best practice ideas to reduce persistent absence and improve whole school attendance.
Places are limited for this session, which is run three times a year. Book online by clicking the link. Incomplete forms may be returned and delay confirmation of your place.
